Ruth Wong

Ruth is the director of the Boston Education Collaborative (BEC) program at Emmanuel Gospel Center (EGC) in Boston, MA. Previously from Taiwan and Chicago, Ruth came to the Boston area to attend Wellesley College. She graduated with a B.A. in physics, went on to Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education for her M.Ed., and taught physics for eight years at public high schools in Natick and Brookline, MA. In 2006, she transitioned back to urban education work in Boston (where she began as a student teacher), focusing on supporting the engagement of churches and faith-based programs in urban education and youth work.

Elder Reginald Smalls

Elder Reginald Smalls has been married to Monica for over 28 years and they have two sons, Marquis & Isaiah. After serving in youth ministry for over 25 years he was installed as the Senior Pastor at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Dorchester, MA in 2014. He also serves as a District Elder of the New England District of the United Holy Church of America. He has his B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University and is also a graduate of Bethel Bible Institute where he currently teaches the sophomore class. He is also a Graduate of the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative and serves as the President of the Christian Youth Basketball League. He currently works for Safeguard Security & Surveillance as a sales representative.

Dr. Joan DeSantis, MD -Radiologist

Dr. Joan Desantis, MD, is a Diagnostic Radiology specialist in Worcester, Massachusetts. She attended and graduated from Boston University School Of Medicine in 1990, having over 29 years of diverse experience, especially in Diagnostic Radiology. She is affiliated with many hospitals including Athol Memorial Hospital, Heywood Hospital, Healthalliance Hospitals Inc, Umass Memorial Medical Center Inc, St Vincent Hospital. Dr. Joan Desantis also cooperates with other doctors and physicians in medical groups including Family Health Center Of Worcester, Inc..

Dr. Maria Falzon-Kirby, MD -OB/GYN

Dr. Maria Falzon is a board-certified Ob/Gyn by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists in London. Dr. Falzon has practiced over 53 years. Licensed and trained in Malta, London and the United States, Dr. Falzon has expertise in gynecologic care and breast care. She graduated from University of Malta Faculty of Medicine & Surgery medical school in 1967. She has been affiliated with St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. She is a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Physician Guild as well as a Member of the Knights and Dames of Malta.

Pastor Richard Reid

Richard Reid is the pastor of North Baptist Church in Brockton, MA. Additionally, he is the director of the Friends of Irish Research, the Alliance of Massachusetts Genealogists & the David Allen Lambert Library which are all based at the church. He is a professional genealogist who helps people research their family heritage using records and DNA. Richard is also a computer specialist who has worked in the industry for over 35 years teaching in high schools, trade schools and colleges. and running his own consulting business. As a ministry of the church, Richard acquires and recommissions computers for missionaries around the world.

Brendan H. O’Connell

Brendan grew up in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston. He graduated from Georgetown University in 1976 majoring in Finance. He graduated with a Masters in Business Administration where his emphasis was in the Entrepreneur & Venture Management program.

He has worked in mergers and acquisitions for a Fortune 500 company acquiring 8 companies in 4 years. He has worked as a business management consulting throughout his career. He has been involved with the right to life, he has served as the Chairman of the Margaret O’Hara West Roxbury-Roslindale chapter of Massachusetts Citizens for Life. During his tenure, he created a television show called ‘Life Matters’.
